When Richard Brock was introduced as one of four inductees for the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame three weeks ago in Knoxville, he couldn't help but remember a quote he kept on his office wall while coach at Craigmont High: "A boy does not need a mark on the wall to measure up to as long as there is a man around about the size he wants to be." "I am such a great believer that that's the role of the coach, especially since so many kids are coming from single-parent families."

"Kingsbury alumni are raising money to put up a monument - at Craigmont High. The monument will honor the late Kingsbury and Craigmont coach Richard Brock, who died March 15 last year of cancer at age 62. "He was a great baseball coach and a great teacher of young men," said Kingsbury alumnus Jim Martin, who helped organize the effort. The monument will be dedicated at 2 p.m. Sunday, and will be followed by a slow pitch softball game between members of Brock's teams."
