Ruth McCormick, 89, of Memphis, retired Memphis City Schools home economics teacher after 38 years, died of heart failure Tuesday (9/19/00) at Allen Morgan Nursing Home. She was a member of Macon Road Church of Christ. Mrs. McCormick, the widow of Robert H. McCormick, leaves a daughter, Rosemary M. Walls of Oakland, Tenn.; a son, Robert R. McCormick of Stilwell, Kansas.; a sister, Winnie Beasley of Lansing, Mich.; a brother, Franklin Kennedy of Germantown, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Burial is in Memphis Memory Gardens.
